Biography

Dr. Abdul Latif Khan received his B.Sc and M.Sc degree in distinction from University of Peshawar, Pakistan. Then he joined Ethnobotany Project of World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-Pakistan). He worked as Conservation officer for three years at People and Plant International (UK) for the training of local communities of Swat (Pakistan) in medicinal plants conservation and sustainable use. Later, he joined the Department of Chemistry, Kohat University of Science & Technology, Kohat, Pakistan to complete his M.Phil in Organic Chemistry. During his studies, he was awarded with JASSO research fellowship by the University of Tsukuba, Japan. He worked in Gene Research Center on isolating and characterizing bioactive secondary metabolites from endemic medicinal plants of Himalaya, Pakistan.
Dr. Khan was selected as honorary scholarship student by Kyungpook National University, South Korea for PhD degree in Agronomy. He was selected as BrainKorea 21 (BK21) fellow for two years during his PhD studies. After his PhD, he remained Post-Doctorate fellow at School of Applied Biosciences. He worked as Research Professor at the Institute of Agriculture Science & Technology, Kyungpook National University, South Korea. Dr. Khan also worked as Assistant Professor at the Department of Botany, Kohat University of Science & Technology, Kohat Pakistan. He has successfully published 78 research articles as a principal and co-author in the journals of international repute and impact factor. His research activities focused on plant-microbe interaction, plant hormonal regulation, microbial bioremediation and secondary metabolite production by endophytic fungi.
