Carol DeFrancesco

Biography

Carol DeFrancesco is a senior researcher and nutritionist in the Lipid-Atherosclerosis Research Group of the department of medicine at Oregon Health Sciences University. She also serves as a consulting dietitian for Meridian Park Hospital and Providence Medical Health Care System's weight management program. She earned her undergraduate degree in nutrition from Oregon State University and her graduate degree in liberal studies from Reed College. She completed her post-baccalaureate clinical training at Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. She lectures to the lay public and to OHSU medical, dietetic, and physician assistant students

Research Interest

Her areas of concentration include coronary heart disease prevention and treatment, obesity and weight management, infant nutrition, osteoporosis, and sports nutrition.
