Biography

Dr. Alon is an Emeritus Associate Professor in the school of Medicine, Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science. His major teaching included electrotherapy, management of limb amputation, management of pathological movements and therapeutic technologies. He has been awarded faculty of the year 6 times and his research and teaching has earned him world recognition in the field of clinical electrotherapy.
Research Interest

Dr. Alon's research focuses on Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) and neuromodulation in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Current projects include a study titled “Electrical Stimulation Effects on Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) and Sarcopenia” and collaboration in a study to be conducted at University of Maryland, Medical Center titled “Multimodal Rehabilitation and High Protein Supplementation to Minimize ICU- Associated Sarcopenia in the Elderly”
