Juma Rahman received bachelor degree on medicine and surgery (MBBS) from Bangladesh in 2003, and Masters in Public Health from Thailand in 2011. In 2004 she joined as project coordinator of ‘HIV and sex education among school going teens’, a very first project of UNICEF in Bangladesh. Then she spent two years as medical consultant in a project of FHI and UNODC. In Thailand, from 2012 to 2014 she was a clinical researcher at HIV-NAT, the Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Centre, transcript writer of the qualitative research study on gender role on violence, conducted by AIT, researcher at Thammasat University. She developed health index for coastal cities (i.e. Bangkok) based on future extreme events of climate changes for START international. Recently she is studying heat stress impact on pregnancy, based in New Zealand.
Her research interests are environmental health, climate change and environmental impact on occupational health, Maternal-Child Health, and gender related health impact.
