Katherine C. Yung

Biography

Dr. Katherine C. Yung is a head and neck surgeon, or otolaryngologist, who treats patients with voice, airway and swallowing problems at the UCSF Voice and Swallowing Center. Her expertise includes surgery for laryngeal and tracheal stenosis, recurrent respiratory papillomas, benign and cancerous vocal fold lesions and vocal fold paralysis.

Yung's research explores the use of adjuvant therapies in laryngotracheal stenosis patients, treatment outcomes in vocal fold paralysis patients, and the effect of awake, unsedated office laryngeal procedures.

 

Yung earned an undergraduate degree at Stanford University and a medical degree at Washington University in St. Louis. She completed residency training at Washington University and fellowship training in laryngology at UCSF. She is an assistant professor of laryngology at UCSF.
