Kedar Kakodkar

Biography

Dr. Kakodkar is board certified by the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery. He has expertise in all areas of Pediatric Ear, Nose, and Throat. He treats problems involving tonsils and adenoids, ear infections, hearing loss and chronic ear disease, head and neck malignancy and congenital malformations, voice problems and velopharyngeal insufficiency, as well as airway problems and pediatric sinusitis. He has particular interest in pediatric obstructive sleep apnea and airway problems as well as surgical treatment for pediatric congenital malformations of the head and neck.

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Kakodkar has a teaching appointment as an Assistant Professor at Rush University Medical Center.  He is also very active overseas and has been involved in providing surgical care for the underserved populations of Vietnam and India through medical mission trips. He has won many teaching and research awards throughout his training and continues to educate the community as well as future surgeons. He has presented at national meetings and published journal articles and book chapters related to treatment of pediatric obstructive sleep apnea, congenital hearing loss and its relation to hypothyroidism, algorithm for management of the difficult pediatric airway, as well as treatment of congenital midline neck malformations.
