I am an experienced clinical and translational investigator focused on the biology, pathogenesis and therapy of plasma cell disorders in general and multiple myeloma in specific. I am presently the Director of the Plasma Cell Disorders program at Levine Cancer Institute/Carolinas Healthcare System in Charlotte, NC. I am leading or participating in several early phase clinical trials with novel therapeutics agents in newly diagnosed, relapsed and relapsed-refractory MM. I am also conducting clinical/translational projects focused on the prognostic role of novel imaging in MM, identifying mechanisms and biomarkers of resistance to novel agents in high risk MM, and investigate novel agents that can circumvent the drug resistance mechanisms in high risk MM.
