Dr Zoe Hilioti has received her BS in Plant Sciences from Aristotle University and PhD in Horticulture from the Pennsylvania State University during the period of 1994-1998. Currently, she is working as Principal Investigator in the Institute of Applied Biosciences of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH). She received post doctoral training on molecular genetics and cell biology from National Institutes of Health and Johns Hopkins University. Her research interests include molecular biology, morphogenesis, targeted genome engineering, bioenergy and signal transduction. Based on this research and fellowship training she has received several awards and honors, such as: The Honor Society of Horticulture, The Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) award, fellowships from NIH, EMBO/EMBL and EPSO. She is an expert Reviewer for several journals including Planta, Plant Molecular Biology Reporter, and British Biotechnology Journal. She has authored several peer-reviewed research articles and reviews and presented at national and international conferences.
