Jane Savage

Biography

Jane S. Savage has a clinical background in mental health nursing and nursing care of childbearing women. In addition, her lifelong work in nursing education and childbirth education led her to receive a PhD from the University of New Orleans in Curriculum and Instruction. Jane has been a Lamaze certified childbirth educator for over twenty-five years. Her program of research concerns women’s health, during the childbearing years. Currently she serves as a co-investigator of a NIH RO3 funded study examining models of prenatal care, stress reduction, and the experience of disaster recovery. She has experience of 35 years of teaching in undergraduate nursing, 3 years teaching in graduate nursing, more than 30 years teaching perinatal education to expectant parents and served as Research consultant related to sensitive topics and women. Her area of expertise, as an Associate Professor credits her with publications in  journals. She is committed to highest standards of excellence and it proves through her published works.
