Biography

Mike Tipton is a Professor of Human & Applied Physiology at the Department of Sport & Exercise Science, University of Portsmouth from Surrey. As the Director of Research for the Department of Sport & Exercise Science, he provides advice to a range of universities, government departments, industries, medical, search and rescue and media organizations. Tipton was based at the Institute of Naval Medicine from 1983 to 2004 and was Consultant Head of the Environmental Medicine Division from 1996 with 30 years of experience in working in the areas of thermoregulation, environmental and occupational physiology.
