Biography

He is working as Scientist in food and nutritional biology department at National Agri Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI) Mohali, India. He is working in the area of nano-bioscience including malnutrition and food safety since last Five year. He has received his Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai with the chemistry specialization. His lab is fabricating calorimetric biosensor to detect food borne pathogens based on carbohydrate lectin interaction to detect food borne bacteria. His lab is also interested in the Iron homeostasis and Anemia of inflammation (AI) phenomenon, Hepcidin, a peptide hormone, is a key regulator of mammalian iron homeostasis. Increased level of hepcidin due to inflammatory conditions stimulates the ferroportin (FPN) transporter internalization, impairing the iron absorption; clinically manifested as anemia of inflammation (AI). His lab is also developing graphene oxide based probe to deliver drug against diabetes type 2.
