Biography

Dr. Rodolfo de Paula Vieira is a Graduate in Physical Education (Univap 1998-2001), Masters in Biological Sciences (Univap 2001-2003), PhD in Pathology (CAPES, USP School of Medicine 2004-2007) and Post-doctorate in Physical Activity and Pulmonary Immunopathology (FAPESP Bag , School of Medicine USP 2008-2009), Postdoctoral Asthma Immunology (Contract Deutsche Forchungsgemeinschaft 2009-2010) by Albert-Ludwigs University of Freiburg - Germany, Postdoctoral Physical Activity and Pulmonary Immunopathology (Scholarship Award of the European Respiratory Society / Marie Curie Fellowship 2010-2011). He was guest researcher at the Department of Pulmonary Medicine at Albert-Ludwigs University of Freiburg in Germany (June 2010 to May 2011) and research associate in the same department (June 2011 to December 2011). Since January 2012 is professor of the Graduate Program in Biophotonics Applied Health Sciences at the University Nine July (UNINOVE).

1. How many years have you been practicing and/or performing research?
13 years.

2. What is the research topic you are working on now?
Pulmonary rehabilitation, cellular and molecular immunology, exercise immunology.

3. What makes an article top quality?
Good hypothesis, appropriate material and methods to address test the hypothesis, good results and in general good writing.

4. What are the qualities you look for in an article?
Hypothesis and material and methods used.

5. Do you have any research funding (NIH or other national funding) now?
Yes. I have a 4 years grant from Sao Paulo Research Foundation.

6. When did you become an editor of OMICS Journal?
In 2012.

7. What is your greatest career accomplishment?
The establishment of my lab and research group.

8. How does the research published percolate through to practitioners?
Through the publication in vehicles that not only in scientific journals that reach the practioners.

9. What is the purpose of serving as an editor?
Support the journal to get good papers aiming to obtain a good impact factor.

10. Do you have any patents?
Yes. In general different patients from different pulmonary diseases.

11. Have you contributed any editorials or papers (any types) to OMICS Journals in the past two years?
Yes.
