Biography

Dr Maxwell Handiseni received his PhD in Plant Pathology at Texas A & M University. His research work has been on alternatives to methyl bromide with much emphaisis on development of new environmental friendly alternatives such as biofumigation for the management of soil borne pathogens in different cropping systems. He has worked both with growers in the USA and small holder farmers in Sub–Sahara Africa on various crop protection projects. Dr Handiseni has worked with rice, wheat, tomato, pepper, onion and turf grass among many other crops. He is currently a Postdoctoral Research and Extension Associate in the Department of Plant pathology and Microbiology at Texas A & M University.
