Mohammed Umar was born in Potiskum town, in Yobe State of Nigeria on the 18th of August, 1982. He attended his primary education at Army Children Primary School, Potiskum from 1988 to 1994 and proceeded to Government Senior Science Secondary School, Potiskum between 1994 and 2000 and obtained his secondary school certificate known as West African Examination Council (WAEC) certificate. His Bachelor degree was acquired in 2009 in the field of Agricultural and Environmental Resources Engineering at University of Maiduguri, Nigeria. He achieved his Master of Science degree (MSc by Research) in Soil and Water Engineering at Universiti Putra Malaysia. He also attended other courses such as Postgraduate Diploma in Education (2011 - 2012) and Diploma in computer appreciation and data processing (2009-2010). He published in ISI (impact factor), Scopus and other high reputation journal. He presented in conferences and workshop at International and national level. He is currently serving as a lecturer with Umar Suleiman College of Education Gashua, Yobe State, Nigeria since 2010.
