Biography

Dr. Qiang Li completed his MS of Veterinary Pathology training in China Agricultural University. He obtained a PhD degree in Animal Science from the University of Georgia in 2007. From 2007 to 2010, he worked as a postdoc & lab manager in the Department of Small Animal Medicine & Surgery at UGA. In 2008, He trained at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for 4 months and he developed strong interest in diagnostic virology of emerging viruses of animals. He then pursued his postdoctoral training at the Purdue University from 2010 to 2012. After passing Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG) and got his DVM equivalent degree, he has been working as veterinarian for 2.5 year in the State of Indiana. Currently he is completing one year rotating small animal internship at VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center in Fishers, Indiana. He is planning to become a veterinary pathologist through a residency training

Research Interest

Diagnostic virology and diagnostic pathology of emerging viruses of animals, as well as to define the pathogenetic mechanisms of viral infections
