Tina Q Tan

Professor in Pediatrics-Infectious Diseases, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, Chicago.

Biography

Dr. Tan is Professor of Pediatrics at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, and a Pediatric Infectious Diseases attending, co-Director of the Pediatric Travel Medicine Clinic and Director of the International Adoptee Clinic at Children's Memorial Hospital, Chicago, Illinois. She is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases. Dr. Tan received her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She completed her residency, chief residency, and pediatric infectious diseases fellowship in the Department of Pediatrics, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. In addition to serving on the Immunization Advisory Committee for the Illinois Department of Public Health, Dr. Tan is a member of the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society's Governing Council, Board of Trustees Member for the Education and Research Foundation, Nominations and Awards committee, and co-course director of the AAP PREP:ID 2011 board review planning committee. She a member of the Executive Committee, AAP Section on Infectious Diseases (SOID); AAP PREP: the Course planning committee; the AAP Section on Infectious Diseases Education Subcommittee; is the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society liaison to the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Infectious Diseases (COID-Redbook) and the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) Programs and Planning Committee. She serves on the editorial boards of: Pediatrics (Official Journal of the AAP), the American Academy of Pediatrics PREP Self-Assessment Infectious Diseases, and The Vaccine Quarterly. She also is the US Representative for the International Steering Committee of the Global Pertussis Initiative and a member of the National Pertussis Task Force (AAP and Every Child by Two).
