Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are a particular sub-population of cells within cancers/tumors. signal transduction of maintenance pathways, such as epithelial-mesenchymal transition, nuclear factor kappa B, Wnt/beta-catenin or p53, in CSCs of breast cancer and oral squamous carcinoma cells. We are recently working on the involvement of heat shock proteins (HSPs) in the maintenance CSCs, Hsp27 and Hsp90 in particular.
