Biography
Dr Sabanayagam received her MBBS and MD degree in Microbiology from University of Madras India and MPH from National University of Singapore She earned her PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from National University of Singapore in 2010 She was the recipient of the prestigious Singapore President Graduate Fellowship in 2009 Currently she is working as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Community Medicine West Virginia University School of Medicine under Dr Anoop Shankar Director of Epidemiology She is also an adjunct Research Scientist at Singapore Eye Research Institute Her research focuses on the epidemiology of chronic kidney disease role of inflammation and microvascular disease with renal and retinal diseases For a relatively early career researcher Dr Sabanayagam has published almost 30 peerreviewed papers most of which are firstauthor publications Her biography is listed in Who’s Who in the World 2011
