Biography

He is a professor with research interests in oral microbiology. I have always been worked in infectious diseases, which is, one of a major subject in the field of dentistry. After completing a DDS course in 1997, I began pursuing a career in microbiology. He initially worked for Group A Streptococcal virulence factors in PhD course. Soon after I gained a plenty of experience in orthodox bacteriology and PhD degree, in order to get comprehensive understanding of infectious diseases, he moved to Professor Akira’s laboratory as postdoctoral fellow. He learned many things about host defense systems, especially innate immunity, which has been one of the hottest areas in biology. He also spent 6 years researching the scavenging mechanisms by phagocytes in Toronto and Kyoto. In 2012, I joined Showa University to research on the project, the impact of innate immune system on oral mucosa. His research includes molecular and cellular biology.
