Pranab Roy has done his Ph.D. research at Bose Institute involved purification of a receptor protein by affinity chromatography and in vitro transcription. Completed his Post doctoral research at Yale University School of Medicine involved Splicing of late mRNAs of the animal virus SV40 and second post doctoral work at University of Connecticut Health Centre involved Bacteriophage T4 tRNA biosynthesis and phage suppressor tRNAs. During his lecturership at Bose Institute, he isolated a novel repetitive DNA from Mung bean, cloned, sequenced and characterized it. His Post-Doctorate research was done at Yale University, USA during the period of 1978-1980 in Molecular Biology and also at University of Connecticut, USA during 1980-1982 in Molecular Biology. Currently he is working as a professor at Haldia Institute of Technology.
