Biography

Thomas R. Ziegler, MD is physician-scientist with significant experience in clinical and translational research (CTR), including mentoring, leading randomized clinical trials, and administration of research centers and training programs. His nutrition-oriented CTR, which focuses on nutritional support strategies and metabolomics in catabolic states such as malnutrition, critical illness, and infection (e.g. HIV, TB) is internationally recognized. He been continuously funded by NIH since 1996 by M01, R01, U01, R21, R03, P30, K24, and UG3 mechanisms and has published more than 172 original manuscripts.
