Young C. Chang

Biography

Prof. Young-Cheol Chang was born in South Korea and received his PhD from Gifu University in Japan. Currently, he is working as Professor in Muroran Institute of Technology, Japan. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities as Research Fellow at University of Central Florida, USA. His research has included biodegradation of pollutants (Petroleum, inorganic chlorinated compounds; PCE, PCBs, endocrine disruptors; Bisphenol A, 4-tert-butylphenol etc.) and lignin degradation and bioethanol production. Based on this research and fellowship training, he has received several awards and honors, such as: Prize of Secretary of Korea Ministry of Construction & Transportation and Prize of Secretary of Korea Ministry of Science & Technology. He is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals like Journal of Bioremediation and Biodegradation and Journal of Odor and Indoor Environment & expert Reviewers for journals like Bioresource Technology, Environmental Technology, Journal of Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology, Critical Reviews in Biotechnology, Environmental Science and Pollution  etc. He has authored 70 research articles/books. He is a member of Japan Society on Water Environment, The Society for Biotechnology, Japan, The Korean Society for Biotechnology and Bioengineering, Japan Society for Environmental Biotechnology, Japan Society of Material Cycles and Waste Management, Society of Environmental Conservation Engineering, and Japan Society of Civil Engineers.
