Dr. Stephen research is focussed on identifying those environmental factors, which may accelerate brain aging (e.g. aluminum). Emphasis is given to understanding the mechanisms that may underlie these events. In addition, the characterization and development of therapeutic approaches, such as melatonin administration, with the potential to slow down the rate of progression of neurodegenerative processes, is under study.
