Biography

Xuekun Fang is a professor at College of Environmental and Resource Sciences in Zhejiang University. He received his Ph.D. from Peking University (2014), major in Environmental Science. He studied at Norwegian Institute for Air Research as a short stint (2012-2013) and conducted his postdoctoral research at Center for Global Change Science in Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2014-2019). His research group focuses on understanding the sources of ozone-depleting substances (e.g., CFCs, HCFCs, CCl4), climate change gases (e.g., CO2, CH4, N2O, and F-gases), and air pollutants (e.g., halocarbon, aromatic hydrocarbons). He published more than 30 peer-reviewed papers as first or corresponding author in journals including Nature, Nature Geoscience, and so on. He received Young Scientist Award from Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences in 2021. He is a coauthor of 2022 World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Scientific Assessment of Ozone Depletion.
