Biography

Thiago Gomes Heck is presently working as a professor in the Department of Life Sciences in the Regional University of the Northwest, Brazil.

 
Research Interest

Thiago Gomes Heck research interests includes: Exercise physiology in animal models especially about heat shock proteins functions, Roles of heat shock proteins during exercise and its effects on Immune function, Roles of heat shock proteins in metabolism control in experimental models of diabetes, Roles of heat shock proteins in cell protection against air pollution induced oxidative stress during exercise.

1. How many years have you been practicing and/or performing research?
I'initiate in 2000 as a student. I’m a group leader since 2011.

2. What is the research topic you are working on now?
My group, Research Group in Physiology, works in biomarkers of inflammation and oxidative stress, mainly in heat shock proteins.

3. What makes an article top quality?
The novelty that is presented in the work and the quality form of presentation and discuss the science and application of the discovery.

4. What are the qualities you look for in an article?
If the results were well explore and explained.

5. Do you have any research funding (NIH or other national funding) now?
I have a research funding from FAPERGS (Brazilian funding agency).

6. When did you become an editor of OMICS Journal?
Since 2012.

7. What is your greatest career accomplishment?
I' m a group leader recently and my group work hard and happy.

8. How does the research published percolate through to practitioners?
I think that still have a distance between science and practical application of the discoveries.

9. What is the purpose of serving as an editor?
The purpose is to contribute to the quality and applicability of the discoveries. The purpose is to participate of the science discussion to learn more and teaching also.

10. Do you have any patents?
No, I don't have.

11. Have you contributed any editorials or papers (any types) to OMICS Journals in the past two years?
Yes, I submitted one editorial in 2012 and other in 2013.

12. Do you plan to contribute any editorials or papers to OMICS Journals in the near future?
Yes, I will submit an editorial and one original research manuscript in this year to JNP.

13. Do you have any trouble with OMICS Journals in the past? No, I don’t, Have.

14. Would you recommend OMICS Group to your friends or colleagues?
Yes, I do it.

15. How do you differentiate Journal of Novel Physiotherapies with other journals in the field?
The JNP is a dynamic journal. The OMICS platform shows many interesting ways of research divulgation. The JNP published in these last years many real applicable studies.
