Statement of the Problem: COVID-19 has varied clinical manifestations and prognoses. Many factors influence
clinical manifestations and prognosis in COVID-19 patients, including sex, age, comorbidities, immune status,
variant of SARS-CoV-2 and therapy. Quick response is needed by health workers when dealing with COVID-19
patients. In Indonesia, as a developing country, PCR examination takes 24 hours. Therefore, establishing
a temporary diagnosis from a history of infection, sign, symptom and simple laboratory examination are the
first things to do when the COVID-19 patient comes to the emergency room. In addition, it is also necessary
to determine the prognosis when they first arrived to be able to provide adequate treatment. CRP (C-reactive
protein) is acute phase reactant protein that can predict the severity of COVID-19 patients. Beside that, viral
infections can affect several hematologic markers. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate hematologic markers in
COVID-19 patients when they first come to the emergency room. The purpose of this study was to determine
the relationship between platelets count and NLR (neutrophil lymphocyte ratio) on CRP (C-reactive protein) in
COVID-19 patients in Jember regency. Methodology & Theoretical Orientation: This study used an observational
analysis approach using secondary data from COVID-19 patients medical records. Using platelets count, NLR
and CRP of COVID-19 patients from June to August 2021. Of the 30 patients who were research subjects, 23 were
treated in non-ICU rooms and 7 were treated in ICU rooms. Findings: Pearson analysis results for correlation
between platelets counts with CRP and NLR with CRP obtained p = 0.001, r = -0.733 and p = 0.000, r = 0.889,
respectively. Conclusion & Significance: There is strong negative correlation between platelets count and CRP.
In addition, there is a very strong positive correlation between NLR and CRP. The correlation between platelets
count and NLR on CRP are related to prognostic and predictive factors of severity in COVID-19 patients. Platelet
counts and NLR can replace CRP as a marker to predict severity in patients diagnosed with COVID-19.
