Dr. Arif Hussain Shah

Biography

I completed my M.Sc. exam from the Department of Chemistry, Peshawar University, Pakistan in 1974. In the end of 1976, I joined the research group of Professor Dr. Rudolf Tschesche, Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, Bonn University, Germany. I completed the German language course followed by Masters exams during 1977-1979. I got my Ph.D. degree in 1982 from Bonn university, Germany. I obtained grade: "very good". My studies and stay was sponsored by Heinrich Hertz Stiftung, Ministry of Science and Technology, Rheinland-Westfallen, Germany; and GFG-scholarship from Bonn University, Germany. I worked as Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Pharmacy, Gomal University, Pakistan for 1.6 year and then joined the Research Centre, College of Pharmacy, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (1984-1988). Later I worked as Consultant in the Central Laboratory for Drug Analysis, Ministry of Health, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. (1988-2013). During 2001-2008, I worked as full Professor (Adjunct Faculty) with Nottingham University, UK and supervised two Ph.D. students. I was also Professor at MAI, Colombo, Sri Lanka backed by World Health Organization (Ata-61). I supervised 22 M.S. and Ph.D. students at different universities.
