Dr Ruparao
TGahukar Ph.D. (Doctorat Es Sciences) from Paris University (France).
Biography
Dr Ruparao T. Gahukar did his graduation and post-graduation at Nagpur (India) and Ph.D. (Doctorat Es Sciences) from Paris University (France). He worked in the Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage (Govt. of India), International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics and with Food and Agriculture Organization (United Nations). Since last 15 years, he is consultant to Sir Ratan Tata Trust, Mumbai, with a mandate of transfer of technology in Vidarbha (Maharashtra), India. He has written books, book chapters, technical papers and popular articles on pest management in agricultural crops. His research subjects include food security, entomophagy, organic agriculture particularly use of biofertilizers and biopesticides, and plant-derived products in plant protection. Conservation of natural resources, new sources for biofuel production, alternate sources of human foods and restoration of ecosystems are the current topics he is pursuing with NGOs and voluntary organizations.
