Ophthalmology is a medical specialty that deals with anatomy and physiology of the eye while discussing about the disorders and therapeutic solutions to provide safe and healthy eye care. Ophthalmologists are the specialists that provide both medical and surgical care to the eye related disorders. There are many sub-specialties within the ophthalmology that include Retinal ophthalmology, Cataract, Glaucoma, Neuro-Ophthalmology, Ocular Oncology, pediatric ophthalmology, Refractive surgery, etc. Ophthalmologists care for eyes by diagnosing and providing medical assistance through medicines, eye glasses or contact lenses to correct vision.
