Biography

Dr. Sutapa Agrawal is a Population Scientist. Dr. Agrawal have more than seven years of professional experience in designing demographic and epidemiological research studies, performing higher level statistical data analysis, training and capacity building besides being actively and extensively engaged in non communicable disease (NCD) prevalence and risk factor research to improving public health in India. In addition to publications in reputed international/national level peer reviewed journals in the area of chronic NCD, population and women’s reproductive health, gender issues, she has participated and presented research papers in many scientific forums. She has been honored with several awards also. Dr. Agrawal is currently associated with the South Asia Network for Chronic Disease (SANCD), Public Health Foundation of India based at New Delhi, India in the capacity of an Epidemiologist. Prior to joining SANCD, she worked as an Assistant Professor at the International Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR), New Delhi and as a Research Scientist at the National Institute of Medical Statistics (NIMS), Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, India.
Research Interest
Dr. Agrawal’s current areas of research interest are epidemiology of chronic non communicable disease such as diabetes, asthma, hypertension, mental health in India, chronic disease risk factor studies including lifestyle, diet and nutrition, physical activity, and women and child health.
