Biography
Dr. Paul is a Professor of Pediatrics and Public Health Sciences at Penn State University. Dr. Paul achieved a doctor of medicine and masters of Science degree from Penn State and completed his Pediatric Residency at Duke University Medical Center. Since returning to Penn State as faculty in 2001, Dr. Paul has focused on two general areas of clinical research:
1) Preventive interventions delivered after childbirth to newborns and their mothers and
2) Clinical therapeutics for children. He has been funded by NIDDK to study early life interventions to prevent obesity and HRSA/MCHB to study healthcare delivery for newborns and mothers after hospital discharge. Additionally, he is a co-investigator on grants from NHLBI, NICHD, and CDC. Dr. Paul is also recognized as a leading researcher and expert on the use of over-the-counter cough and colds medicine for children.
