Biography

Jyothi Korani has done her MPhil from the University of Hyderabad and her Masters in Social Work from Osmania University, Hyderabad. While pursuing her Bachelors in Social Work from Roda Mistry College of Social work, she was awarded a gold medal. She has over 10 years of experience in various developmental projects like Andhra Pradesh Rural Livelihood Program, HIV/AIDS Education Program, etc. She has also worked as a translator in Technical Resource Unit organization for evaluating NGOs of Andhra Pradesh. At LVPEI, Jyothi is involved in some of the community based research projects. Her current role involves extending administrative support for Global Sight Initiative, and TOM’s One for One Giving in Sight programs. She facilitates the administrative aspects of training programs and is also involved in teaching. She has been the Co-Investigator for “Impact assessment of cataract surgery”, “Impact of Refractive Error Correction on Activity Based Performance and Other Vision Based Functions of Children Aged 10 to 15 Years”, Photo Voice project and U-Specs. Jyothi was the State coordinator for ‘Sight for Kids Project’ in Greater Hyderabad in which she trained partner eye hospitals, schoolteachers and grass-root level workers. As part of Chinnari Choopu program, implemented in the state of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, she was involved in training the state resource persons.
