Professor Andrew A. Zekeri received his Ph.D. from The Pennsylvania State University, University Park. His current research foci include Community Economic Development Strategies, Rural Poverty, Food Insecurity in Alabama Black Belt, Conspiracy Theories about HIV/AIDS in the Rural South, Health Disparities, and Rebuilding Lives after Hurricane Katrina. Dr. Zekeri’s group is currently developing a Community Based Epidemiologic Research of Health Model to study HIV/AIDS in the Black Belt Counties of Alabama.
