Hiromitsu Morita

Biography

He graduated from Kyushu University Faculty of Dentistry in 1995 and entered the university hospital as a research fellow. After two years of dental practice as a resident, he proceeded to graduate school of Kyushu University in 1997, earned his Ph.D. in 2001. Subsequently, he started to research at the Department of Pharmacology, Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Kyushu University (1.5 years) and the Department of Pharmacology, University of Vermont College of Medicine (1.5 years) as a postdoctoral fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. In 2004 he returned to Kyushu University Hospital and worked as a clinical fellow, a research associate, an assistant professor, a practical instructor. In 2014, he moved to Fukuoka dental College as an associate professor of the Section of General Dentistry, Dept. of General Dentistry.

In Fukuoka Dental College Medical and Dental Hospital, he has provided dental treatment to medically compromised patients and handicapped patients.

As educational activities, he took charge of an examination designer of CBT, served as a member of management committee of OSCE, and instructed preliminary clinical practice.

As for research, he has been studying mainly on cardiovascular pharmacology and oral tumor pathophysiology. He makes effort to practice Oral Medicine including perioperative oral management, integrating dentistry with medicine. Also he is striving to discover connections between basic research and clinical practice with a view to “From bench to chair side”.
