Biography

Dr. Wilhelm Claupein is professor of agronomy at the Institute of Crops Science at the University of Hohenheim, Germany, since 1998. He earned his PhD in agronomy at the Justus-Liebig University of Giessen by studies on effects of wheat monoculture. After a 6 years post-doc qualification (habilitation at the Georg-August University of Göttingen) with research in self-regulating mechanisms in agro-ecosystems, he became a professor and held the chair of agronomy at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (Austria), from 1995-1998.

Research Interest

His current research focuses on soil fertility, soil tillage, crop rotations, organic farming and multi-functional cropping systems.
