Biography

Sabine Sampels, PhD studied Food Chemistry at Rheinische Friedrich Wilhlems Universität, Bonn, Germany and received her PhD at the Department of Food Science, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. After her Dissertation she worked at different Institutes in Sweden and Norway with quality of fish and fish products and the effect of dietary fatty acid composition on human health. Currently she has a position as a researcher at the University of South Bohemia in Ceske Budejovice, Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters, Institute of Aquaculture with the quality safety and shelf life of fish and fish products, novel ingredients in fish products to increase nutritional value and effects of fish consumption on human health.

Dr. Sabine's research interest includes fish and fish products assessment, aquaculture and effects of consumption of fish on human health.

1. What is the research topic you are working on now?
Fish and fish product quality and effects of fish consumption on human nutrition.

2. How many years have you been associated with the current research?
3years.

3. How has your research precinct affected the scientific community?
We are publishing scientific articles, doing clinical trials, promoting fish to the consumers trying to establish the communication between scientist and fishermen/fishery companies.

4. What are attributes for a quality article?
Novelty, clearly written, clear aim and rational.

5. How does the published scientific content assist the potential researchers?
They can compare their results, draw new conclusions, verify or confute their ideas results.

6. Where can the journal find the maximum scope in terms of niche?
Not really sure, but maybe in the topic of production systems.

7. Your opinion on conducting EB meetings at related Conferences?
Why not , would make it easier for more people to join.

8. How would you define your experience with OMICS Group?
In general good, however I have not had much things to deal with until now.

9. What other aspects should be taken into consideration for Journal forbearance?
I think as we need to reach a certain number of publications in order to get known and established as well as to reach a level were the journal can get an IF journal now at the start we should be generous with fees and give reductions and campaign as much as possible maybe theme editions could help along with reduced fees or something like that.
