Biography

I am Dr Tahar GHARRED, assistant-professor of Animal biology at High Institute of Biotechnology of Monastir (Tunisia) and a member of the Research Laboratory "Bioresources: Integrative Biology & Valorisation".

The first university diploma I obtained was the license in Natural Sciences in 1989 from the Faculty of Sciences of Tunis, then a Master diploma in Animal ecology in 1993 from the Faculty of Sciences of Tunis. In 1999, I defended my thesis and was recruited as a permanent-assistant of Animal biology at the Faculty of Sciences of Bizerte (Tunisia). Actually, I am assistant-professor of Animal biology at the Higher Institute of Biotechnology of Monastir

Research Interest

My research activities began in 1991 and I investigated the Biology of fish: morphology, growth, reproduction, diet …Actually, I’m interested by the effects of environment stress on biological parameters of aquatic organisms, sea urshin and Blenniidae fish as model. I’m working on the assessment of the early biological effects (development, morphology, growth, reproduction) of marine pollution on aquatic organisms.
