Dr. Oglesby is a member of the founding faculty at the Kent State University College of Public Health. He came to Kent State in 2009 from the University of South Carolina where he served in several research and administrative roles in the School of Public Health and the Office of the Vice President for Research and Health Sciences. Dr. Oglesby is a practice-based scholar who uses community-engaged research methodologies to examine and strengthen the systems, methods, and policies that promote community health. He publishes across the spectrum of venues that drive system, policy, and practice changes at local levels with the goal of translating knowledge into action. His research and practice expertise includes community health needs and assets measurement, sexuality and reproductive health, and economic evaluation of health interventions; with some recent work focused on lifestyle medicine and substance abuse.
