Biography

Vanderlei Salvador Bagnato simultaneously completed his Bachelor of Physics (University of São Paulo, USP) and Bachelor of Materials Engineering (Federal University of São Carlos, UFSCar). He earned a doctorate degree in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is currently a full professor at USP and the director of the Institute of Physics of São Carlos of USP. Bagnato works in the Department of Atomic Physics and Applications of Optics in Health Sciences. He is engaged in several pursuits regarding technological innovation and dissemination of scientific findings.
