Biography

Koye Oyerinde MD MPH FAAP is an assistant clinical professor at the Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University. He implements the Averting Maternal Death and Disability (AMDD) Program’s strategies on maternal and newborn health worldwide. He provides technical assistance on maternal and child health programming to ministries of health and partners in developing countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Dr Oyerinde received basic medical training in Nigeria and underwent graduate studies in general public health and epidemiology in Nigeria and South Africa. He also trained as a pediatrician in the US. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of their section on International Health. Dr Oyerinde’s current research interest focuses on the application of dissemination and implementation science to the delivery of maternal and newborn healthcare services in the developing world.
