Biography

Degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Pisa, Italy, in 1993. She worked at CNR-ISMAR of Ancona from 1993 to 1999 as grant student, from 1999 to 2001 as time contract scientist and from 2001 as permanent scientist. Since 1993 she participated to field activities and laboratory work within research programs concerning coastal area management. Currently she is responsible for the studies on macrozoobenthic communities regarding environmental impact (gas platforms and pipe lines, discharge areas, artificial reefs), characterization of MPAs and open-sea mariculture. Currently she is Scientific Referent of CNR inside the Marine Strategy Framework Directive Criteria on Good Environmental Status (EC). Speaker in national and international Scientific Congresses and supervisor of degree thesis. Professor in national and international masters.

Research Interest

Alessandra Spagnolo has more than 20-ys experience in benthic community and gut contents analysis. Research also focuses on environmental impact on sediments and bioaccumulation on marine organisms.
