Biography
Avelar Alves da Silva is graduated in medicine by the Federal University of Piauí (1992). Philosophiae Doctor Ph.D. in Science (medicine - nephrology) by the Federal University of São Paulo (2013). Medical residence in internal medicine at the Hospital Heliopolis (Sao Paulo - Brazil). He is currently Nephrologist of the university hospital of the federal university of Piauí and associate teacher of nephrology at the Universidade Federal do Piauí (UFPI). Specialist in medical clinic, nephrology, emergency medicine and intensive care. Has experience in the field of Medicine, with emphasis on clinical medicine, clinical nephrology, renal transplantation and intensive therapy, working mainly on the following topics: clinical nephrology, renal transplantation, intensive care and endemic infectious diseases common in tropical countries. Expert in visceral leishmaniasis in renal transplant recipients. Extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases (viral, bacterial, fungal, Protozoan and other tropical infections in Kidney Transplant) such as herpes zoster, leprosy, tuberculosis, CMV and toxoplasmosis.
