Biography

Dr. Kamalesh Sarkar completed his MBBS from Calcutta Medical College in 1984 and MD in Community Medicine from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in 1989. Dr. Sarkar joined at National Institute of Cholera & Enteric Diseases on 1989 and continued his public health research work since then tilldate. Because of his significant contribution, Dr. Sarkar was awarded the prestigious ICMR Award, ` Dr. M.K. Seshadri Prize’ for the year 2006. Dr Sarkar was also selected as Member, National Academy of Medical Sciences (India) for his achievements. His research interest includes HIV, STIs, diarrhoea, TB, Malaria, Malnutrition, Diabetes.
