Biography
Dr. Raymond S.Ochs is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at St. John ′s University. He did his B.S in Biochemistry from Purdue University and obtained his Ph.D.in Biochemistry from Indiana University.He is a winner of several honors such as Sigma Xi Graduate Student Research Competition(1978), Member of American Society for Biochem.and Molecular Biology(1987) and so on. He has rich teaching experience in the field of Biochemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Research Interest
Current research interests includes the mechanism for the drug metformin, a known activator of AMP Kinase, with established metabolic actions in liver and muscle and the cellular uptake and intracellular release of Ca2+ in muscle cells.
