Prof. Yuri L. Lyubchenko received his PhD in Molecular Biophysics from the Moscow Institute Physics and Technology (Russia) during the period of 1969-1971. He also received D. Sc. degree in Molecular Biology from Institute of Molecular Genetics (Moscow, Russia) in 1989. Currently, he is Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, NE. His research spans over such areas as nanoimaging approaches to Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other protein misfolding diseases; molecular mechanisms of DNA replication and recombination; chromatin structure and dynamics revealed by nanoimaging techniques. Based on this research, he has received several awards and honors, such as UNMC distinguished scientist (2008). He is serving as an associate editor for Nanomedicine: Nanotechnology, Biology, and Medicine, as editorial member of several reputed journals like Nanotechnology, Science and Applications, Reports in Medical Imaging, International Journal of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Journal of Molecular Pharmaceutics & Organic Process Research. He has authored 218 research articles/books and expert reviewer for journals, like Nature, Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), Biophysical journal. He is a member of American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS), American Chemical Society (ACS) and Biophysical Society (BPS).
