Pranab Roy completed his Ph.D. in Bose Institute, Kolkata; awarded from Calcutta University and Post Dctoral in Yale University School of Medicine & University of Connecticut Health Center, USA.His research areas in Plant molecular Biology, organization of repetitive DNA sequences,Plant pathogen interactions,Stress tolerance of plants, Bioremediation, molecular characterization of biodegrading microbes, Studies with microbial biofertilizers to improve their stress tolerance.
