Biography

Dr. Cheng Siong Chin received the Ph.D from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in 2008. He has a M.Sc. (Distinction) in Advanced Control from The University of Manchester in 2001 shortly after he received his B.Eng. (Hons) in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (Mechatronics Specialization). He was a Lecturer in Mechatronics Engineering at Temasek Polytechnic in Singapore. He had also involved in a research funded project with British Gas Asia Pacific and NTU on design of a semi-autonomous marine vehicle for oil and gas companies in 2003. He currently holds three U.S. Patents. He is a CEng, EUR ING, MIET and SMIEEE.  He is authoring a book titled “Applied Control Engineering using MATLAB” by Bentham Science Publisher and is a Member of the Editorial Advisory Board of The Mediterranean Journal of Measurement and Control. His expertise is in the areas of modelling, simulation, control systems design of marine vehicle systems such as AUV/ROV/surface vessel.
