Biography

Dr. Rafael Dettogni Guariento was Graduated in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2006), master's degree in Ecology from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2008) and PhD from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2012) to exchange conducted at Oklahoma State University (OSU ) in the United States (2010-2011). have a postgraduate education, with an emphasis on mathematical modeling, the IGB-Berlin (Germany) and the Department of UFRN Engineering working with modeling of trophic webs and ecosystems. He is currently assistant professor at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul. He has experience in Ecology, with an emphasis on limnology, ecology Communities, numerical and computational modeling Ecology. Main working themes: Ecological stoichiometry, food chains dynamics and adaptive foraging, predator-prey dynamics, Construction optimization algorithms. My research is focused on the behavioral and ecological effects of the trade-off between foraging and predation risk. I'm interested in how organizations access (and react) the environment in which they live. This includes issues of prey modify their behavior, morphology or physiology in the presence of predators. I am also interested in aspects related to Communities of Ecology and Ecosystem Ecology in general. My theoretical approaches are based on different mathematical optimization methods, including dynamic programming equations and genetic algorithms. I'm currently working on programming of trophic webs modeling software and ecosystem functioning.
