Jorge Palacios-Boix
Biography
Dr. J. Palacios-Boix is the Director of the Addictions Unit. He is a medical doctor who trained in Psychiatry at McGill University and Dalhousie University, specializing in Addictions Psychiatry, Group Psychotherapy and Mood Disorders. He obtained further training at the Canadian Institute of Psychoanalysis. He is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at McGill University, Training and Supervising Psychoanalyst at the Canadian Institute of Psychoanalysis, and President, Canadian Psychoanalytic Society.Research Interest
His research interests reflect Addiction with Co-Occurring problems, The Impact of Axis II Psychiatric Comorbidity on Detoxification Outcome, and had wide range of publications in various national and international journals. He is the Editorial Board Member of - Journal of Addiction Research & Therapy and serves as a member of various associations, apart from being an author for many books.
