Biography

Mrs. Lassiter worked as a Major Markets Executive in the health insurance industry for over 15 years prior to serving as director of the Omaha Housing Authority’s FirstStep Community Integrated Service System  Infant Mortality Project in 1992. Mrs. Lassiter established the first Healthy Start Initiative in Nebraska, an Infant Mortality Reduction Program that continues to this day under the leadership of Charles Drew Community Health Center. She served as Director for Nebraska’s Healthy Marriage Initiative and Teen Pregnancy Prevention Programs.
